That's why polypropylene isn't one material—it's a material family.

Why should a buyer care? Because 'polypropylene' on a bill of materials is not a complete specification. A serious polymer data sheet includes melt flow rate, tensile modulus, impact resistance, and heat deflection temperature. Without those numbers, you're not comparing materials. You're comparing names.

Polypropylene is a polymer. But 'polypropylene' is not a complete answer.

And the abbreviation? PP is standardized under ISO 1043-1 for thermoplastic materials. That's the kind of detail I notice when someone tries to sell me a generic replacement without documentation.

7. Can you compare prices on the LyondellBasell homepage?
